Almost perfect! This is like the house you would dream of owning. Such a peaceful, relaxing place, everything is so beautiful. We had the superior suite which was big enough for us 5. It was very nice to get back there after all the hustle and bustle of Ibiza. But you have to know it’s a bit far of the city so we spent lots of time in the car. Also, my kids got bitten as there were several nests of wasps in the stones walls. I know it’s the nature and they probably can’t do anything about it, but I wish we were told to be careful as our 3 kids got bitten when looking for snails, 1 by 3 wasps, and we had to go to the clinic as they had an allergic reaction. Actually right in front of our room was a big nest so be careful especially with kids. Apart from that, it’s exactly the kind of places I enjoy the most - few rooms, not a hotel feeling, but yet the services of a hotel (you can order food and drinks at the pool or in the room). Very well maintained. Our kids could wander around, it was like a labyrinth for them with plenty of places to go. We started with Can Curreu for 4 nights and will finish with a hotel near the city after Formentera. I think it’s a good option. So you can explore more the north (go to Benirras for the hippie drums!! Very nice atmosphere). They are 5 min by foot from las dalias hippie market. Anyway, definitely a place to recommend !!
How to turn a pleasant to an unpleasant experience. We booked short term a room via email. Unfortunately they didn't tell us that the spa is closed beforehand for renovations. However a very polite and pleasant man at the reception told us that he would give us a voucher for the spa to visit them when they are open. They gave us a nice room (the hotel was pretty empty). We enjoyed dinner with some friends at the restaurant (also totally empty). So far great customer experience. Then we wanted to pick up the voucher as promised in the morning from the reception. There we met a second person at the reception who is extremely unfriendly and told us off that we won't get any vouchers, that we already had a better room and partly food and that we cannot expect to have a spa Included and that it was our fault that we didn't ask beforehand if it's open??? So unfortunately a very pleasant experience turned into a very unpleasant one. We probably would have booked many nights and dinner more but with that experience unfortunately not.
BEWARE!! If you book with this hotel and for some reason can't make it and cancel during the $0 charge period, they DON'T refund you the deposit they charged - which they shouldn't have charged in the first place - and after so many emails, messages and calls they still haven't refunded me the money. Booked in January for an August trip, they charged me 30% which was unexpected, I cancelled within the 'no charge' cancellation window in May, and it's been over a month I'm chasing them to refund my money. They just don't care. BAD Business! Don't throw away your money.
