⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A small paradise of peace and human warmth⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Saint Raphael Terme for the first time, and we can say with certainty that it won't be the last. Nestled in the green heart of the Maronti area in Barano, this elegant 4-star hotel is much more than just a hotel: it's a haven of serenity where body and soul find refreshment. Two pools, one outdoor surrounded by a lush garden that seems to have come straight from a Mediterranean dream, and an indoor thermal pool, enveloping like a hug, are just the beginning of a regenerating experience. The spa is a true gem: complete with all the services and thermal treatments covered by the local health authority (ASL), it's the ideal place for those seeking authentic well-being. Traditional Ischian cuisine, prepared with skill and passion, is a journey through the island's authentic flavors. Each dish tells a story, and every dinner becomes a memorable experience. A sincere compliment goes to all the staff: professional, attentive but never intrusive, and incredibly welcoming. We felt at home, even better: pampered by genuine smiles and discreet attention. A truly convenient plus is the shuttle service to Maronti beach, punctual and well-organized, allowing you to enjoy the crystal-clear sea without a care in the world. In a fast-paced world, we found a place where time slows down, where you feel welcomed with genuine warmth. It was our first time here, but we already know we'll be back. One of the most emotionally exhausting and uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. I stayed at Hotel Saint Raphael Terme with my daughter, and chose this hotel believing it would meet international 4-star standards. Sadly, it did not even meet the basic expectations of care, comfort, cleanliness or hospitality. • The room was bare and poorly furnished – no kettle, poor quality mattresses, no mattress protector, a basic fridge, one small open bin, and plastic bathroom cups. • We found black insect / termite fragments on the floor daily and I woke up with bites. • No air conditioning during the day (only ventilation), and staff were dismissive when we reported discomfort (and even telling me to make alternative arrangements - during this busy period) • Meals were probably the only part which had a bit of heart in it although it was hit and miss, with fixed seating daily and water was not even included in the half-board package. • I wasn’t offered help with luggage or even a goodbye — the key was taken from me in silence. What should’ve been a peaceful, restorative break on a beautiful picturesque island turned into a draining and disappointing experience. I wouldn’t return here even if it were free. I’m not sure how the hotel ticked off boxes for (local) 4-star classification, but it fails completely in comfort, care, and international quality.
