Hotel Saint Regis

Stayed here for one night on the drive down to the south of France. It was so easy to find and you can pull up at the front, grab the pre-printed parking instructions and you are parked in no time. Em on reception was delightful and even brought drinks up to our room as the bar was not yet open. The room had a lovely balcony and was immaculate. We took a stroll along the river had some great food, it’s a beautiful place with some cute shops and there was a mini carrefor just across from the hotel so we could stock up on snacks for the drive the next day. We wished we had booked two nights so we could enjoy Chalon more.

The room was in good shape, spacey, and ventilated. Minor maintenance required observed in the shower room and the closet. The restaurant should include a menu in English to those who do not know french. Eventually, the resturant team and the receptionist were too collaborative.

My Wife and I stayed here on the way Home to the UK, unfortunately it was raining so we didn’t explore our surroundings as we would have liked. The Hotel reception and bar area are very inviting, we had a beer there which is reasonably priced for an Hotel. The exterior is also very pleasant and on a main road in the city centre. Our room was fine with a good bed and bathroom area but walking up the stairs to the room is not too well lit. The stairway carpet was in need of vacuuming. We booked half board and had a very nice dinner in the restaurant, breakfast was also a very good continental. Parking was extra but undercover and secure about 100 metres from the Hotel. An enjoyable stay just a shame about the weather.
