No wifi available in the room. Gazilions of tv stations, none in english. Fridge did not work. Booked balkony room. Got basement room with garden.
!!!UPDATE!!!Worst experience ever. the fridge and the ac didnt working. the building is outdated, every pillow is different, every hanger in the closet is different. the breakfast of two salamis, one cheese and a sweet is insufficient. this is definitely not a 4 star hotel UPDATE!: you lie like you're typing dear lady. your mattresses are worn out, the fridge is dripping water instead of cooling. I saw 3 different rooms, because you changed one for us and the fridge still didn't work and was full of water drops. the air conditioning is outdated, full of dust and not working. If it's 25 degrees on the island, it feels like 28-29, then I think it's warm enough for the air conditioning to work. and if not, write it down somewhere, because you don't have it written down anywhere. we were only told at the end of our stay that we were upgraded to a worse room, a shame.
The only truly positive aspect of our stay at Hotel San Giovanni Terme was the staff – they were genuinely kind, helpful, and did their best to assist us throughout. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Despite being advertised as a 4-star hotel, the experience was far from it. The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable – we found a significant amount of dust and dirt under the beds, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We booked a double room expecting a proper large bed for two people. Instead, we received two single beds pushed together, plus an extra single bed in the room for no apparent reason – quite confusing and not what we paid for. Our room was located at the very end of a hallway near the swimming pool, which came with its own set of problems. The bathroom was in poor condition: the shower didn’t function properly, the tiles needed repair, and there was an old rusty hook that looked unsafe. In addition, Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room, forcing us to stand in the hallway just to access booking confirmations or make plans. This was a serious inconvenience. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, especially by Italian standards. The vegetables were not properly washed, and many items seemed stale or of the cheapest quality available. Even the coffee, which you would expect to be good in Italy, was undrinkable. One of the most misleading aspects was the promise of a private beach. In reality, the beach is about 15 minutes away, something that should be clearly communicated in the listing. When we arrived, we found the beach area was shared with three other hotels and completely overcrowded – we barely found a place to sit. This was a major letdown. To be fair, the location is decent – it's within walking distance of the city center, Ischia port, and various restaurants. However, even from the beginning, the hotel was difficult to find, with no signage indicating the entrance – a poor first impression that sadly foreshadowed the rest of our stay. In conclusion, while the hotel has potential, especially due to its location and friendly staff, the overall experience was very poor. The lack of cleanliness, misrepresentation of facilities, and subpar food made this a disappointing and frustrating stay. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.
