The San Lino is located at the quiet end of the old town, but everything in Volterra is within a short walk. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff was especially accommodating when we needed to extend our stay unexpectedly. The onsite parking was convenient and secure. The included breakfast gave us a good start to the day.
This is not a 4 star hotel. No hot water in my shower. Very small room. Window behind the curtain was open and room very cold until I could discover the problem. Staff was very nice but doesn’t make up for the 2 star facility.
Hard to believe this qualifies as 4 star hotel. AC was working but completely ineffective, bathroom was extra small, the housekeeping service was really noisy (or the walls are too thin), everything seems outdated and not particularly well maintained. Breakfast was ok. The only good thing was the swimming pool (kinda small though) and the location.
