Hotel San Nicola

The Hotel is 4 stars, very cosy and elegant. We had to park outside the historical area and walk through the cobbled streets with the bags. We were specifically touched by a Mr. Mario working there. Intelligent, heart-warming and helped us a lot with changing a room. There are very many constructions right now in the historical centre and it is very loud and the noise and closed streets should be taken in mind when planning trips.

Excellent location in the center of Altamura within a 2 to 3 minute walk to the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption.Parking is available in front of the hotel. The town of Altamura is a nice central location with which to explore Mater and Gravina in addition to Altamura itself. The town is welcoming and authentic. It really comes alive after 7 pm so definitely stroll down the main promenade. The staff of the hotel were very friendly, efficient and professional. One member of the staff also graciously drove the car to the hotel through town when we found the incoming road blocked due to a town festival. The hotel is a renovated Palazzo with beautifully hand painted ceilings. The room was large and clean. There is an in room safe and mini fridge. The hotel is quite charming and quiet.

This hotel and staff was exceptional. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff was friendly, attentive, kind and so very patient in every way possible. We were treated like family. Highly recommend. Thank you 🙏
