Hello. From July 2nd to July 11th, 2025, we stayed as 4-person family in Albena at the Sandy Beach Hotel. The adventure began at the entrance to the resort, which was called a 4-star hotel. Upon entering, a security guard announced his assistance and called the Sandy Beach hotel manager. He informed us that we would pay 260 leva per day for two rooms. He repeated the price of 1,250 euros for nine nights with breakfast and a pool. Okay, I agreed. The polite security guard drove us to the hotel in a security car. We then went to reception. The bald guy informed us, "Yes, 1,250 euros for two rooms, but without a pool." I told him that we had discussed the pool with the manager and that it would be provided. Okay, he called the manager and informed us that we wanted a pool, as he had said. We reached an agreement. Then I want to pay, and the bald guy at the reception says "You won't pay at the beginning, only at the end when you leave" Okay, exhausted, we grabbed our keys and went to our rooms. I repeated this on Saturday, July 5th, saying I don't want to pay upon departure. I went back on July 8th, and the same thing happened: "Upon departure!" I thought they might be stealing and wanting to see the rooms' condition, which is why they were waiting until the end of the stay. They also charged us 180 levs for parking in the second zone, paid in advance because it's close to the hotel, which is why I paid. We drive everywhere so we wouldn't be dependent on anyone, so we went to Varna on July 4th. The barrier wouldn't open, and a security guard came running up, "Ticket and pay!" I told him the parking was paid at the reception desk, and this continued for a few minutes. I explained in English and Russian that it was paid, using vulgar language. He let us go, and this happened several times. I reported the problem at the reception desk, and the guest threw up his hands in disbelief that Bulgarian doesn't have the letter "O"; instead, he reads the registration with the number 0 and doesn't open the barrier. Returning to my departure on July 11th at 9:00 AM, I went to the reception desk to pay, and the bald receptionist told me 260 leva for one room... I explained that there was an agreement for 260 leva for two rooms. He asked me if I had email confirmation or the phone number of the manager I spoke with. Unfortunately, the call was made from a security guard's phone, so I didn't have any confirmation of who I was speaking to. He charged us 2,500 euros, as if we were staying at a five-star, all-exclusive hotel with a heated pool. Unfortunately, mistakes are made. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this pseudo-Sandy Beach Hotel. I warn everyone, it's simply an organized group…
These guys do not know how to properly wash dishes and cutlery. Every day I could find "clean" dishes with traces of food from the previous user. Also, the cutlery was not properly rinsed, it was sticky. Every single day I spoke with the managers, they acknowledged the problem in most cases, could not solve the problem, at least while we stayed there. Otherwise it is a decent hotel, a great view, next to the beach, pleasant staff, food was good...
I would recommend to avoid this hotel and maybe choose other. I did not like food, drinks but my room wasn't so bad. Anyway, please do not expect that someone clean up your room during your staying. The hotel is near to the sandy beach where you have enough free umbrellas and deckchairs. In the sea is a lot of jellyfishes and the shore was covered by the seaweed which was taken away in two-three days. Around the pool is dirt. It was my first visit in Bulgaria and I am not sure I will come back again.
