This place has clearly seen better days. Only the most basic maintenance is done. Our nice room had a worn down mattress and bed, towels worthy a youth hostel (not a "4 star resort"). Breakfast was very good, but thd ill famous issue of aggressive birds has not been resolved. Three suggestions: put a higher "fence" reaching the ceiling, a sign explaining to innocent guests that feeding is only increasing the problem and a walk-thru curtain at the entrance. Don't fall for the beach club. I never saw anyone eat there. Pity the sun shields for rent are only in the lsst row of the spacious beach, precisely where the hassle by walking vendors is worst (although less aggressive than in Cartagena). One star less for the not so impressive "sky bar" (no sea view from the bar itself, partial view from the small pool) and the restaurant trying to introduce the yankee system of imposed tips, unusual in Colombia. Environment is quite dusty with several dirt streets.
First time here and we were pretty disappointed. The reception ladies did not greet us with a smile or good customer service. From the moment we arrived we wanted to cancel the reservation because it did not look like the pictures that were shown on Booking. As soon as we tell her she says “ok step to the side” was very careless. The rooms and pools were very average definitely not worth the price. If you can pay a little more for Hilton or Marriott I would highly recommend it. The breakfast was the same everyday and we did not count with having birds flying in and eating at our food. The location was the only good pro to this hotel and the guys who would take up our bags. There was one specific gentlemen Fidel had a nasty attitude and was not helpful. We asked for hot water(we wanted tea) one night due to being sick which seems like something basic a hotel should have and he said they ran out but did not look for other solutions. Conclusion: I would not come back nor recommend it. Tip: Please have your staff work on their customer service as it will continue to turn away tourists.
I am Colombian and was excited to bring my American husband to Colombia for the first time. This hotel was a let down. Don't book! PROS Two great positives were the restaurant staff: Jesus and Alexander. They were fantastic and went above and beyond to make my husband feel comfortable. Rooms were clean and beach towels are provided and replaced. Beach is very close. We enjoyed our lunch and dinners at the restaurant. The drink specials, fried red snapper, pastas, and salads were delicious. CONS Breakfast food leaves something to be desired. Breakfast is supposed to be until 10am. If you arrive 9am or later, there will be very little food left for you. The day we decided to sleep in (a Saturday) I received caldo with no meat and no potatoes. Just flavorless broth. The one time we ordered room service, I ordered two baby beef steaks both medium cooked. We received one medium and one extremely rare despite our order for two of the same steak. The power has gone out three times in our four day stay. Briefly, but the power was not affected at the nearby buildings. The front desk staff were rude and uninterested. At one point my husband tried to ask for new towels and the woman at the desk answered her personal cellphone (not hotel phone) and blatantly ignored him. The staff in general definitely treated my husband very poorly as a foreigner which was extremely discouraging. The wifi rarely, if ever, connected during our stay and it never had the internet.
