Amazing! Brutal! A future michelin star Atempo Restaurant coordinated by Chef Jordi Cruz and executed by Iñaki Aldrey. Beautiful and great 5 stars hotel with only 15 suites, unbelivable welness-spa with an amazing pool... Exclusivity, art and Jewelry museum, gastronomy and heritage. 100% recommended.
Overall, we had a good stay at Sants Metges. Staying in the low season meant that the hotel was empty apart from us and another room, which was quite pleasurable. The staff were helpful and kind and tried their best to make us feel welcome. There were however a few things which made our stay a little less than 5 star experience for us. The hotel has no gym, and the sauna area is incredibly small for a hotel of this caliber. We had booked a room for 3 guests, thinking that there were suites with 2 rooms inside. However this was not the case - we found out that all rooms are the same size and suited for 2 guests. Meaning that you would have to book 2 rooms, at the same price, instead of paying a reduced price for a single room. This was quite confusing for us, since there is no clear indication of this when booking the room. Rooms were clean and spacious, and for the most part nicely decorated and designed. There were minor minus points, however this wasn't a big issue (no toilet brush, confusing light switches, no speaker system to use with a mobile phone). The breakfast was good, however very limited and in a way, basic. We unfortunately didn't get to try the restaurant, however I can see that it might be a selling point for some.
We booked a night in this hotel for our stay in Girona. It is very luxurious, set upon the top of the nearby hills. The rooms are well sized, and the toilet has a separate shower room and bathtub. However the room only has one set of curtains, a separate sheet for light would be welcomed. The TV is really too complicated for me, and trying to turn on Chromecast for the wifi password works if you are on Android, good luck for those on iOS. The pool is nice and enjoyable in the sunny afternoon. One disappointment was that due to the Long weekend, all of the restaurants in the hotel was unavailable. (pls read the fine print when you confirm the reservations). We had to take a cab to the city for dinner, cos we don’t really relish eating room service in a five stay hotel. Overall the hotel could have done better and paid attention to the practical aspect in the details.
