I had a wonderful time staying at this hotel during my conference. The staff were some of the most helpful I've experienced. The room was cleaned daily and everything worked very well. It was in walking distance of a cute coffee shops, the convention center, library, bars, and other popular spots! Couldn't recommend this hotel enough!
I was very disappointed with my stay, especially considering that the hotel is priced similarly to much nicer hotels in the same area. The lobby was very dark with several large empty rooms. As soon as you entered, it felt very cold and low energy, which isn’t what you would expect from a hotel downtown. If you approached the staff they were kind, but they didn’t go out of their way to engage. The rooms were very dated. I was one of four staying there at the same time, and our rooms had stained carpets, foul smells, and damaged items. The towels were very thin and didn’t smell or look clean. Housekeeping was also very inconsistent on coming to tidy the rooms and replace towels.
This hotel is haunted. I checked into my room 402. I felt uneasy heading up the elevator. It felt as if someone walked into the room directly behind me. I turned on every light in the room. Still feeling uneasy, I didn’t unpack. I turned around to the full length mirror and it appeared as if a shadow moved from in front of the mirror. I exited the room without my luggage. I went down to the bar for a drink because my nerves were shot. I checked out 30 minutes after checking in. Needless to say they would not grant me a refund because I used Priceline. The staff shared numerous stories of the haunts of the hotel. The front desk clerk was kind enough to go upstairs with me to retrieve my luggage. The hotel should advertise itself as haunted because I’m sure there are guests who would enjoy the experiences and the stories of the staff members. I was not one of them. I checked into another hotel and couldn’t sleep for two nights after. I wrote a complaint to the hotel leadership as instructed. No response. I wrote an email complaint to Hilton’s escalation team. No response.
