Found this lovely hotel for an overnight stay to break up our trip north. Not fancy but affordable and lots of ambiance in a classical “castle” setting. We had the Jr suite with an extra bed to accommodate three people. The only thing missing was a light over the mirror in the bathroom. It just had a ceiling light. The breakfast buffet was set up in the basement restaurant and offered anything one might desire with plenty of superb choices. Definitely worth the price.
This hotel has pros and cons. Charming location in quiet town, good parking, the room was a good size and clean. But the two armchairs were plastic and at 30 degrees they turned into swimming pools. The breakfast is good, but the dinner was mediocre and the wine overpriced. The hotel is really dog friendly, but do not go there, if you have any problems with getting around, as there is two steps up or down many places.
Nice breakfast is all I can say on the positive side. No wifi, no airco, traffic noise from nearby road, not enough toiletpaper and that for almost 100 euro per night. In short: way overpriced! For the record I stayed in the Annex (Amthaus), I hope the rooms in the castle itself are better value for money.
