Hotel Schlosskrone

Maurice at the front desk was amazing. He was very helpful, friendly, and kind. With our two night stay, I felt like we made a friend in him. Breakfast was great. I would highly recommend everyone to stay here.

Beautiful old style hotel in the heart of town. Extremely clean and well cared for, with nice gym and a FABULOUS breakfast! Maurice at reception was helpful, professional and friendly. We will definitely stay again if in the area.

You're likely reading this review because you're trying to visit Neuschwanstein and you're looking for a place to stay (instead of a Day Trip from Munich). The castle is in Hohneschwangau (High Schwangau). You can stay in that area for a really pretty penny. Down the road is Schwangau - which you're going to pay for as well. Or you can book in the town of Fussen, which is what we did. Hotel Schlosskrone was an excellent choice for staying in Fussen. It is centrally located. Check-in was a breeze... don't forget your passports. I parked right out front and they had all my keys ready. The parking situation wasn't terrible. They had a one lane going into the basement and the path was navigable even for a big car. The parking spaces were small, but not the smallest that I've encountered in Germany. From there, the rooms are charming and capable. There appears to be two parts to the hotel connected by a bridge on Floor 1. Unfortunately, my party was split between the both buildings, which was tolerable, but suboptimal. The staff at reception spoke fluent English and kindly endured my Level 24 Duolingo German. The service was top-notch. The stay at Hotel Schlosskrone was delightful and I highly recommend for a stay in Fussen.
