Hotel Schwaigerhof

We have stayed at Schwaigerhof twice, once last ski season and then this summer. We have our third visit booked in February 2025. I have nothing but positive feedback for this beautifully equipped resort. The hotel location is great for the ski school slope on Hochwurzen. Planai and the lift to the top of Hochwurzen are within easy reach via the ski bus or car. We visited as a family, including our two children aged 6-9 years. Our children are equally as enthusiastic about staying here as we are. The outdoor play area, the bunnies, the go karts (in summer), and the basketball court and the indoor play areas (in winter) allow the freedom and choice to explore. The spa is a stunning space and instantly evokes feelings of luxury and tranquility. The new extension is sublime and the aufguss (sauna ritual) programme is a very welcome addition. The infinity pool is a lovely temperature and the backdrop is stunning. I enjoyed a hot stone massage and my husband enjoyed a classic massage at the spa, both were very relaxing. The food is excellent and is so beautifully presented. There is always something to delight the taste buds (even for me as a vegetarian). The breakfast selection is extensive and the light buffet at lunchtime offers a nice selection of savoury and sweet snacks. The staff are very conscientious and speak excellent English. We feel very welcome and at ease in the capable hands of the Schwaigerhof team. We are very much looking forward to returning.

Best Ski Hotel for Families with young children. We have been here twice already and every time loved everything. Ski lift and school are just next to the hotel, food is amazing and facilities are top notch. If you want to enjoy aa great winter holiday, this is the place to be. It is very popular though and needs planning and booking way ahead of time.

This has been our most favourite hotel in the world for over thirty years, mainly for skiing and snowboarding holidays but also in summer. Why? Because it is outstanding in every way, but most especially because it is run by one of the kindest, most professional, attentive and supportive families, all of whom are now our dear friends. I am delighted and proud to say that both my close and wider family, now comprising three generations, also love the Schwaigerhof.
