Hotel Senator Hamburg

Lovely Hotel five minutes walk from Central Station. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was huge with beautiful European doona’s. Bathroom was clean and spacious

Hotel is a 3-5 minute walk from the main train station, and very well located in an area with lots of restaurants. Only thing to note is that there’s a convenience store nearby that you have to walk past from the train station which attracts many homeless / drunk people, so you may feel a little unsafe walking back alone at night. Overall hotel looks a little tired with the furnishings and the rooms. You can tell that there has been some effort towards renovation and refurbishment, but that it is still relatively tired looking. But honestly the price-value ratio is good and the rooms are very functional. There is an elevator, but it is old and takes forever even just to arrive at the floor. Breakfast spread is quite limited and you’re likely to grow tired of it after 2-3 mornings. Hotel staff are lovely and welcoming, which makes up for things.

The best thing about the hotel was the service. Definitely some very nice people working there. I was traveling with my mom and she found the hotel to be charming and cozy. Me on the other hand found it a bit outdated and in need of an update. So maybe if you are a bit older you will love it but if you are younger you might not find the rooms to your liking.
