Comfortable hotel in beautiful gardens with pool, situated in a nature conservation area Silvana di Fasano. Upkeep immaculate, staff friendly and professional
I try to have good reason to give not-great reviews. When a place is inexpensive and in need of significant renovation, I understand that it’s not possible. However, this hotel was fine but can put into place basic customer service improvements. Some of the staff were frankly quite rude and unaccommodating. For example, we asked if we could eat our breakfast outside to decrease covid risk we were simply told “no”. Other staff were great. The grounds were nice enough for the price, and the rooms were also acceptable for the price level though beds were uncomfortable and air conditioning not great given the last Steve heat. The region has many, much more intimate and character-full Masseria that I would guess are likely to be be more thoughtful about providing service. If you’re looking for a basic inexpensive hotel with a nice pool and nice grounds, and can look past not-great service, this place will be just fine.
This is a hotel that tries to present itself as higher standard than what it actually delivers. The hotel itself, the outdoor areas, and the interior all feel like a vacation from the 1970s–80s, with a gazebo and evening events that resemble 1930s-style parties for today’s retirees. The room sizes are okay, the beds are quite hard, and the décor is outdated. The pool is extremely cold. Service is minimal. They truly don’t go beyond what’s absolutely necessary. The waiter at the pool bar found it inconvenient to serve us at the table because he had guests at the bar — and this was despite us placing an order for six people. Our booking did not state that access to the beach would cost an extra €30, something both the hotel and Hotels.com should be responsible for — yet we, as guests, are left to deal with the consequences. The hotel offered us a discount, but why should I have to pay anything at all when they and their partner can’t provide correct information? Really poor. It was one of the reasons we even chose this hotel in the first place. The location is fine if you’re aware that a car or taxi is a must — it’s about 15 to 30 minutes to most nearby villages. However, there’s no supermarket or anything else in the immediate area. Barely any lunch restaurants either. Housekeeping was also very slow. When we went back to the room to shower during siesta, our room wasn’t cleaned because we had “missed our turn.” The cleaners were sour and kept repeating the same thing in Italian, even though we explained we didn’t understand. The hotel is also incredibly noisy — everything from the stairwell echoed in the morning, with loud guests heading down to breakfast. We’re not coming back. Well — unless we feel like reliving the 1980s.
