Hotel Silken Ramblas

The overall stay was nice and comfortable Staff are really nice, rooms are good, breakfast was typical one you would find in most hotels. Particular to my visit, i thought i could reserve parking, emailed staff, and they quickly almost in the same hour replied that it is not possible, I still found parking as they have two stories parking. Also the day of check out they allowed me to leave the luggage and the car for after checkout for me to roam the city a bit more, which is really nice free of charge

Not really a 4-star hotel. The room was clean but dated. The service was decent at the pool bar. The rooftop view was nice and there is a small pool. The food that is served however is not really what I consider to be 4-star. My biggest complaint is the wifi! My WiFi would only connect for a few minutes in my room. And since I didn’t get good cellular data service I couldn’t load any pages or plan things to do on my trip without going to the lobby or roof. I did ask the front desk if the WiFi was working and they said it was. So I am not sure. Could have been user error. But the two of us in our room were having difficulties.

We had a cockroach in the room running across the floor. We smashed it and told the reception in the morning and asked for proper cleaning and pest control. When we got back later, the cockroach was gone, but the blood and guts were still there. Cleaning didn’t even wipe the floor. No pest control had been done either. I had to ask again, and they finally did the pest control — but at night — so we ended up with half-dead cockroaches lying around while we were trying to sleep. Disgusting and not something you should have to deal with in a 4 star hotel. The whole situation was badly handled. Cleanliness should be basic — especially at this price. Won’t be coming back.
