Hotel Sonnalp

Nice Hotel in the middle of the Alps. I spent a business week in the hotel attending the BioEl Winter school conference 2024. Cosy hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Small pool and nice wellness area also available. The location of the hotel is convenient if you want to have a walk in the nature or go for ski. Car parking available. Food is tasty. Overall I enjoyed the stay.

Located in the Brixen valley directly adjacent the river the hotel has very easy access to hiking routes and decent access to the large skiing regions on the slopes above Kitzbühl. The food was very tasty and the wellness facilities modern. The staff was helpful and polite. The interior is more traditional, but that style reflects the region very well. Overall, I can only recommend Sonnalp for people wanting to go skiing or hiking in the Brixen valley.

Very nice hotel, stylishly suited to the Tyrolean environment. Rooms spacious. Bathroom relatively small, but with a bathtub. Free parking at the hotel. Possibility to store skis and mountain bikes. Relatively fast WiFi. Breakfast and dinner a decent selection but it was nothing special, they tend to be better in this category of hotel. Location of the hotel great, a short walk from the cable car and bus stop, yet in a very quiet location. The primary reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is the bed - the mattress was terrible, very saggy and really miserable to sleep on. I've never had such a terrible mattress anywhere else. It would definitely need to be replaced with a new one.
