Me and my partner wanted to relax and eat after arriving in Canfranc after our train journey got interrupted after a train crash on the line; our train journey became incredibly delayed and we didn’t arrive in Canfranc till 3 hours after expected. Our main worry was we were not going to find anywhere to have lunch, and we were hungry and tired. Upon arriving to the hotel, the staff behind reception was helpful and respectful, probably the first and only good interaction we had during our stay. We went to the cafe which we were told would be open. No one there. We waited about 10-15 minutes till one staff member finally arrived for which he was not even sure that we would be able to eat. 5 minutes of more waiting for him to come back and say we can. We order. Wait like 20 minutes for some eggs which were not prepared how they were ordered. They said they were scrambled but arrived not scrambled. The staff member disappeared for quite a long time. We had to wait another 15-20 minutes to pay, which was done by another staff member because the one that was serving us decided to leave us and take up another task. Additionally this staff member saw us waiting and ignored us. we came back later in the evening after a walk and after greeting a staff member they did not greet us back. The hotel room was well prepared but lacked any tea or coffee. There were two bottles of water in the fridge. The bathroom is clean but not well designed, as the shower head weighs down the handle. This meant that every 5 minutes we would have to reposition the shower head. The shower is positioned beside the toilet meaning that I had to squeeze beside the toilet to fit in it. Upon use of the shower, it floods the bathroom. There are many switches in the room that do not work or serve no purpose.

As many other comments said, this is NOT a 4 star and i would say barely a 2 star. I am not sure how they got this rating. The beds are tiny and uncomfortable, broken in the middle with terrible mattresses; the rooms are badly isolated with fake walls and you can hear everything from other rooms, even clear conversation so it is hard to sleep; there are no amenities in the room, just a small bottle of gel/shampoo, no lotion no conditioner no shower gel; but the worst is the service. They say they have a spa, it is not a spa. There is one small jacuzzi that is never free, no sauna or steam room, a few massages rooms. So you cant use the spa. There is nothing to eat for skiiers. Only a small cafeteria is open at 8pm for food. Otherwise from 10am to 8 pm there is no place to eat or have a coffee. They only have like a few bad donuts and the likes when you come back skiing at 5. Never seen that in a 4 star hotel. As many other comments said the breakfast is appalling. At 10 am it closes and they throw you out. First day i went at 945 because i didnt know it was closing at 10 ( it is so early close). She said they are closing at 10 so i said i will just have a quick coffee and some bread and jam. She charged me 25 euros and at 10 on the dot told me we needed to leave. Not a second more past 10am. i didnt get to eat the bread… so 25 euros for a coffee. That is the kind of things you see in hostals honestly. Next day, my husband went at 9. There was no eggs for 35 mins, everybody waiting for it getting upset. All of the tables were dirty and full of dirty plates, there was no where to sit even though the tables were empty, so my husband had to clean a side of a table to sit. There is nothing bar, you can only get basic alcohol, they had 1 type of beer only, no cocktails or anything you would expect in a 4 star. Just cheap things. It is a complete scam for the price, we paid 1500 almost for 3 days. I would give it a 2 star level hotel. Honestly one if the worst hotel i ever been to. Edit to respond to the hotel reply: what you are saying about the breakfast is not true. I know what i exprerienced and if many other comments are saying the same, maybe it would be worth listening…. My husband went at 9 am and had to wait 35 mins for eggs. There was a queue for it and many people were getting upset. ALL the tables were unclean, there was no where to sit and my husband cleared a corner to sit there. We were asked to leave the breakfast at exactly 10. Yes i arrived at 945 as we were not informed it was closing at 10, but at 10 on the dot we were asked to leave. I left all the unfinished breakfast on the table. Secondly the cafeteRia food does not serve before 8pm. We came and asked and the only food offered were a few snacks left over from breakfast. In comparison we went to baqueira the week after at hotel MIM which is supposed to be the same 4 star category. What a difference! If i didnt know i would say there is a 5 star difference between the 2! Amazing brand new large rooms with king size comfortable beds. Amenities are Nuxe brands with large bottles of shampoo body wash conditioner etc… 3 restaurants in the hotels including a 1 star michelin, an amazing buffet with really high end food, a great bar with cocktails and super nice food all day, with great sitting in couches next to the fireplace, a fantastic spa and gym, porters, vallets parking, ski rental on site…. I mean incredible difference, same price….
