A FABULOUS hotel. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Great location close to old town. Lovely rooms, BEST walk in shower. Delicious breakfast. One of the BEST hotels we stayed in in Switzerland! Would HIGHLY recommend.! We loved our stay at Spalentor.
Beautiful clean, spacious rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful above and beyond what we expected. They were able to rapidly resolve a complicated last minute reservation change made through a 3rd party website due to our flight getting delayed and missing its connector. Game room has a billiards table, foosball table and a tiny bit serviceable gym space. Lots of cool buildings right out the front door. I'd stay here again next time we're in Switzerland in a heartbeat. Big recommend.
This hotel is ideal for a few nights in Basel. It is right next to the old part of the city and easy walking distance to all the sights. Inclusive in the price of the hotel is a free "tram card" which allows you to get on all the public transit of the city for free every day you are staying there and in to all the museums and galleries for half price. The beds were delightfully comfy, the showers were hot with great water pressure, the linens were lovely and soft and clean. The gym/game room was very functional and fun! Lots of good options for a workout and the pool table was a great surprise for us. We had great interactions with all of the staff, enjoyed the patio outside as well as the bar, and we strongly recommend their excellent breakfast (it's extra $$ but worth it for a long day of sightseeing). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Hotel Spalentor!
