Hotel Spero Vignette Collection by IHG

I’ll address the elephant in the room first and talk about location: many of the reviews don’t reflect the location! Yes it’s technically in the Tenderloin, but just on the edge of Union Square. As long as you walk to the north or the east, you will be fine and immediately by all the touristy areas which makes the location perfect. We did not see too many people outside of the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and historic! The lobby is great, and the room was beautiful and spacious (I did have a suite, keep in mind). Bed was okay but the couch was quite comfy. No coffee maker in the rooms, but the coffee in the lobby was delicious! The food in the restaurant was okay, nothing great, but the people were great. I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel Spiro truly impressed! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my special request without hesitation. My room was very clean and quaint, and I appreciated the good quality coffee and tea in the lobby. Jasper's restaurant next door was super convenient with a great breakfast. Plus, the hotel is within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shops. Bottled water in the room would be a nice additional touch.

I recently stayed at Hotel Spero and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel and rooms appear to have been recently remodeled—everything looked fresh, clean, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I appreciated how calm and quiet the hotel was throughout my stay. While the surrounding neighborhood didn’t feel particularly inviting, I felt reassured knowing there was a doorman or security guard at the entrance during the evening hours. That extra sense of security was a nice touch. Overall, a solid stay if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable hotel in the area.
