Hotel St Francis

Amazing location. I loved that the TV is tucked away in a piece of furniture. We never used it. Our group enjoyed the bar. Parking is valet only, which is excellent given the location where public parking is difficult. If you are looking for historic, authentic Sante Fe this is it. If you want a chain hotel with technology, this is not your place. I would recommend this place for a weekend trip into the area.

There was an overpowering musty odor in our room. They did attempt to take care of it, but it only masked it for a while. We had to buy some some deodorizer of our own to keep spraying. They also attempted to overcharge us by $90 vs. our third party booking total. They did make that right

The location and attached restaurants were great, but the hotel itself was a letdown. Our room was over 85 degrees, and the AC didn’t work. The vent was filthy (see photo), and despite notifying the front desk, maintenance never cleaned it or fixed the issue - they just tried turning the AC up, which the front desk admitted maintenance had said their attempted fix made things even warmer. We had to sleep with the window wide open (facing a loud restaurant/bar) just to get air, which made for a loud and miserable night. It took 40 minutes to get a fan after we had asked, and after 11 PM, TJ, who had been working with maintenance to get a fan.. just stopped answering the front desk phone despite multiple calls. We were hoping to change rooms because the fan did nothing and it was unbearably hot - sweating just laying on top of the bed. We left at dawn. The vent was not just gross - it’s a serious health and fire hazard. Unless the hotel addresses these issues, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
