We had a wonderful stay at Hotel St. Georg in Regensburg. From the moment we arrived, the reception was extremely welcoming. As we were traveling with our dog, we were touched to find that the receptionist had prepared a special treat for her – such a thoughtful gesture! Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a complimentary bottle of water waiting for us. The hotel is located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood with convenient parking. It’s also close to the highway, which makes it an especially great choice for anyone who is continuing their journey after a restful night. Check-out was incredibly easy – we just left the key cards in the room. Overall, everything was smooth, comfortable, and friendly. We highly recommend Hotel St. Georg to anyone staying in or passing through Regensburg – every recommendation from us!
After a bad experience of spending 2 nights in an unexpectedly shubby, micro-size, hot and loud room in Ludwig's Hotel in Fussen we were simply pleased to have a spacious double room on the top floor with a proper desk, wardrobe, aircon and a bathtub. The Spanish receptionist was very nice and helpful, she managed a high workload very well and should be at least praised for her skills, including good English. The hotel was erected in the 60's, our room had 90's interior and the dining and reception area hard to tell, but for us it was stylish with old times elements. Our room (243) was overall good, it had a nice view over the city suburbs and hills beyond. The roads outside are unfortunately loud due to high traffic so I had to keep the window closed, but after Ludwig's Hotel this wasn't an issue for me anymore. The aircon, though, kept making disturbing noises for a long time after it was used. Pillows were way too big and high for the mattress (rather medium soft than firm), but I made myself a comfy alternative from my husband's duvet which he didn't need. We c'd hear through the wall our nextdoor neighbours talking. A man serving breakfast was kind to allow me a takeaway coffee and tea before the serving time. The hotel's restaurant cater only for organised groups and conferences, so individual clients have to dine in the local area or downtown. There are 2 proper grocery shops within a walking distance in the area. There is also a bus stop 5 min walking distance from where a bus n° 2 runs to the city centre every 20min. The ride takes only a few minutes and the bus is almost empty. You can buy the tickets with cash from the driver. It's a really convenient service. Important to note is that you can get on and off the bus by any door you wish, just like in Poland. Overall, we were very satisfied with this hotel and w'd recommend it.
We arrived at 22 in the evening with our small baby sleeping, having drived the whole day. We discovered that our room didn’t have a baby bed (we thought we reserved it with the booking, but the staff continued to show that it wasn’t in the booking and that we should have replied to an email that we never have received). They almost send us away, but last minute gave a room with a baby bed that was suddenly available. No extra help or service, they didn’t care about a negative review or that we will never come back anymore. Not kind or helpful at all. Other than that, room and breakfast is good. Parking didn’t fit with our rooftop suitcase on our car (max 2m).
