The hotel could be a 5 star one. Staff is friendly, English speaking and happy. The room was really clean and spacious, even if it was the smaller room option. Breakfast is also good. The metro station is just by the hotel door, two stops from the city center.
Not very good to be a 4 star hotel. We stayed over for the marathon, which the hotel was partner of. Half of the staff we dealt with at the reception appeared to be lost; when asking if breakfast would have been earlier than 7am on marathon day, the receptionist didn't know, then someone from the back office said it would have been at 6.15, without even showing up (how can you not know, or how can't you tell your staff these information if you are partner of this marathon?!?). Staff on training messaging on their mobile phones while the colleague was doing the check in... Really? Check in service not very nice I would say. In addition to this, many times receptionists weren't able to say a simple "hello" at the entrance when we were coming back to the hotel, always staring at the computer screen, barely answering us when greeting them. And this is supposed to be a 4 star service? Basics missing. Breakfast was good, a part from some lost waitresses. Could not have a proper cutting knife because apparently they did not have any, had to drink the cappuccino in a paper cup which obviously was overfilled and spilled all over because the proper ceramic cups where somewhere being washed. Can't say the room was clean, hair in the bath tub, hair in the bidet, some hair on the sheets, dust stuck in the bathroom corners. Check out experience was overall good, polite and competent receptionist, could leave our baggage in the cloakroom. Good location, two steps form Castro Pretorio metro station, ten minutes walk from Termini station.
I stayed at this hotel in March 2025 and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. While the location, breakfast, mattress, and pillow were good, the most essential aspect of a hotel stay—getting a good night’s sleep—was impossible. The room was unbearably hot (around 25°C), and the air conditioning is centrally controlled, meaning we had no way to regulate the temperature. We went twice to the reception to ask for a solution. The first time, the receptionist simply told us to "keep the window open"—which was not a real solution as our room faced a busy cross street, making it incredibly noisy. The second time, another receptionist told us they would try to lower the heating, but the temperature remained exactly the same. I barely slept and even had to put a pillow over my head to block the noise. To make things worse, during checkout, nobody even asked how our stay was, which really gave the impression that they didn’t care about guest experience. On top of that, despite it being my birthday, there was no small attention from the hotel. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel if you want a restful stay. The basics of hospitality—comfort and guest care—were simply not there.
