Hotel Stekl

Really great location. Very historic. Food is superb. The massage is high level stuff. The staff is very friendly and hard working. Prices are moderate, no surprise charges. Everything is very clean despite the fixtures are being a bit dated in part. We had a awesome time!

The place is very good, located right next to the castle, and offers excellent facilities, including a wellness area. I had breakfast and dinner included with my stay — the breakfast had a great selection and was very good, while dinner was a fantastic experience with delicious food. The only downside was the bathroom. I personally prefer showers over baths for convenience and eco-friendliness, but the setup was not ideal. There was no proper infrastructure for a good shower — no place to hang the showerhead — and the bathtub was positioned under a slanted ceiling, making it impossible to stand while bathing. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel part is really great! But the restaurant feels like it's 100 years behind in terms of service! It was extremely slow — it took about half an hour before someone came over to ask if we wanted something to drink. And there were very few guests in the restaurant, so they can't even say they were too busy — everyone understands if that's the case. They brought completely different food than what we ordered. I didn’t even know Bolognese is now served with half a plate of water! 🤦🏻‍♀️ And in the end, we had to pay more than the actual price of the meal — they charged us for dinner as part of a half-board plan, which we had already paid for with our accommodation. At least the reception was helpful — thank you very much for that! 🙂 Thx.
