I stayed at Hotel Subcarpati after cycling over Transfagarasan. It was a great choice, very welcoming with my bike. The room was clean, comfortable, and affordable, and with air conditioning on this hot summer day. They have a restaurant and spa too, so you can relax and not worry about finding anything else.
I stayed here on Christmas Day night. We booked last minute on Christmas Day, and they still made us welcome. The accommodation was excellent. The food was fabulous. The beef steaks were some of the best I have ever had. I would definitely stay again. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
No access to jacuzzi/spa if you don’t reserve. Reception didn’t specify reservations were required unless asked after check-in. Plus you pay so much for the hotel and you don’t have access to the facilities if you don’t pay extra, not worth the visit, it ain’t too special.
