Stayed for 5 nights and can't fault the staff or the hotel for anything. Room was as pictured, clean, well stocked, AC was perfect. All the staff were great and friendly. Noise levels are to be expected for a town centre hotel but the location was great for me and was surrounded with lots of lovely cafes and bars.
The woman working in the breakfast area was rude as soon as she realized we only spoke English. While she greeted other guests with a warm “Buongiorno,” she addressed us dismissively with “What’s your room number?” When we asked for coffee, as the sign in the breakfast room invites guests to ask the staff to make it, but when we requested it, she pointed to the coffee machine and told us to make it ourselves. However, when Italian guests asked, she immediately went over and made them coffee from the bar. She also never checked in with us during breakfast, ignoring our table completely and only focusing on the tables that spike Italian—even when my mom tried to wave her over. The next morning, my mom attempted to ask again, but she was ignored and gestured toward the coffee machine again. It was clear that she had no interest in helping us because we didn’t speak Italian, which was incredibly frustrating and left us feeling unwelcome. That said, we did have a positive experience with the hotel’s reception staff. Both gentlemen were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. They made us feel welcome and were genuinely pleasant to interact with. Location is good as it is a 15 minute walk from the train station and nearby the famous pizza place. Room was okay, the mattress and pillow were hard and it was cold during the nights but otherwise it was okay.
Review for Hotel Suite Ares in Naples Italy I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The front desk team was very helpful, with one exception an older man with gray hair, who unfortunately displayed rude, racist, and disrespectful behavior. He stated that the Checkout time is at 10 am although 12:00 is written online in their page. On our departure early in the morning He was literally rushing us out of The Hotel in a very disrespectful way. The rest of the team, however, were fantastic, especially Simon, a younger receptionist with a beard. He went above and beyond with his genuine desire to help, which made a big difference in my stay. Ronaldo, another receptionist, was also very helpful and made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. One important thing to note is that, after making a reservation and checking in, you will be asked to pay a city tax that’s not included in the initial price shown on Expedia, so expect to pay a little extra when you arrive. The room I stayed in was on the smaller side, but it was very clean and well-maintained. The buffet breakfast was underwhelming and didn’t meet my expectations. Additionally, I had an issue with the taxi service arranged by The Hotel. The receptionist arranged a taxi for me to the airport, and told me it would cost €24. However, when I arrived at the airport, the taxi meter showed €27, and the driver asked for €49. I ended up paying €50. So, if you plan to use the taxi service, make sure to book on your own and check with the driver beforehand to avoid surprises. Overall, I wouldnt go back to this hotel, and I hope the older gentleman will have retired by then. I would say it is definetely overpriced and much better options are available starting from Airbnb to similar Standard hotels but for a much more affordable price.
