I visited here for a day trip. There are both indoor and outdoor baths. Both are 100% natural hot springs without circulation. The water is clear brown with slight brown sediments. The water smells wood. The open air bath has a large inflow of water and warmer. The indoor bath is larger with less inflow leading to less freshness. The staffs are nice.
Just across the road from Sagae Station. 30 minutes from Yamagata Station but the train runs every 90 minutes or so. Rooms feels a bit old but beds are comfortable.
