We had a good stay for 5 nights while at a conference down the road. Lovely pool, in-doors joining to out-doors - we went in daily. The room was a bit warm - the air con seemed more like a fan, so during the night we had the bathroom window open. I'm not sure what it would be like in hotter weather though. Other than that, it was comfortable and the restaurant had a good choice for breakfast. Most staff were helpful with only one rather officious man. They have bicycles you can take out for free which was lovely.
Overall, we had a nice stay. The stag are friendly, but they should learn English. The services are fine. The waiter at the restaurant, Marco, is the best. They should add variety to the breakfast bar.
On my first night at the Hotel Terme Helvetia, I woke up at 03:00 in the morning with backpain, because my bedroom mattress was excessively worn and sagging. I slept from 03:00 onward, sitting on a chair in the hotel reception lobby area! The staff was not as courteous and helpful as a hotel gust would expect for a four star hotel facility at Abano Terme. The room was not very comfortable. I had a half-pension during my three night stay. The breakfast was disappointing, substandard quality. The pump-marmalade container for strawberry jam did not work! They didn't have the correct cereal bowl size! I did not eat or like the scrambled eggs they prepared for breakfast. For my first day at lunch, the menu entry "frittata" was absolutely disgusting! This has been the worst hotel dinning I have ever experienced at any hotel throughout my travels in Europe. I had the same table assigned seating for my three day stay. My table was not set, or prepared for my second two days, during my three day stay. In fact, there was other items left on my table from the night before at breakfast, I had to ask the waiter to clear off my table in the morning and remove the items from the night before that were left on my assigned seating for the morning. Overall, this was a terrible hotel accommodation experience. One of the worst hotel stays I have experienced.
