I would not recommend visiting the Thaneller hotel. First of all, the staff is very unfriendly. Secondly, a simple mineral water during diner is €5,40 (even when you booked half pension). Thirdly, payment of the drinks has to be done every night after diner with the person where you ordered it (while the pin is often not working). When you say this system is not quite relaxed and you ask for a total bar bill for all the days instead of paying every night, they get angry and say “If it is such a problem for you, better look next time when booking a hotel.” As last, we often experienced a smell of smoking in our bedroom, and there was a party in the hotel organized by the hotel which kept us from sleeping. Small note: if we would have wanted to join the party, it would have costed us an extra €25. It must be said that the facilities of Hotel Thaneller are very nice and the room is very clean.

Visited this restaurant for a New Year (Silvester) dinner on a last-minute reservation. We were first seated in an empty entrance hall far away from the crowd, that didn't look promising for a festive dinner. After a 20-min wait and a whole lot of waiving, a waitress finally came over, we ordered drinks and asked if it's possible to move us to another table given that several tables in the main hall, where all the action was taking place, looked empty. Denied. Luckily, the restaurant manager was a much friendlier person who moved us to the main hall without a problem. Unfortunately, the food on the Silvester menu was rather disappointing given the price; definitely below the par compared to every other restaurant we tried in Berwang.
