My stay at The YARD was amazing from the beginning to the end. This boutique hotel is tucked away on a quiet street in the residential area. From walking in, I was warmly welcomed and taken care of. I especially enjoy the intimate feel at the breakfast area and cute courtyard, as well as the clean spa & fitness area that wasn't visited often by other guests at all during my stay. The kind staff was courteous, resourceful, and prompt in service. The only improvement is the breakfast was meh but overall I really enjoyed my little peace here!
I had the pleasure of staying at the yard for 10 days this past July. From check in to check out, the service was friendly and effecient. I stayed in large room and the room was spacious, cool, and had a great shower. The location was ideal for our purposes, it was a nice walk to the transit station and places of interest in Kreuzberg. Thank you for a great stay in Berlin!
We stayed for 4 nights with our children (2 older kids and a baby) and were very disappointed. Despite booking via Booking.com, we were given two rooms on separate floors, three stories apart. Obviously not suitable for young children. When we asked to unfold the sofa bed in our room, reception claimed there were no extra mattresses available. We ended up moving mattresses ourselves so we could sleep together. No effort was made afterwards to accommodate us or even check in. Breakfast is overpriced gor a tiny unwelcoming buffet (21 per adult, €10 per child) and underwhelming: if you arrive after 10am, food is already being cleared away. At 10:30 sharp, a staff member comes to ask you to leave the room—no flexibility, no courtesy. The general atmosphere is cold, sometimes even unpleasant. Staff are unsmiling and occasionally rude, whether at breakfast or at the front desk. No warm welcome, no thank you or goodbye, and no printed invoice when checking out, just a vague promise to send it by email. The location is another downside: far from interesting neighborhoods, very few nearby shops or restaurants, and the area felt slightly dodgy and uninspiring for us Finally, the price is simply not justified: €1200 for 4 nights + €240 for 3 days of breakfast. On top of that, everything extra is expensive (10€ paid pool access, €20 to wash a shirt, €25 Not worth it for such poor service. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families.
