Hotel Tirrenia

We are a family of 5 that stayed at Hotel Tirrenia in Sorrento. We had a wonderful time! The Hotel/rooms are very clean and the staff is wonderful. We had no issues! This hotel has been recently renovated because everything seems new-which is plus! The hotels location is wonderful as well!! Highly recommend!!! We will stay here again when we return to Sorrento!

At first, I was concerned because the reviews were all over 5 years old but when I saw the hotel in person all my concerns dissipated. This place is brand spanking new. After a 5 year renovation project, they have reopened. The lobby is very stylish in beautiful shades of blue. There is refreshing citrus infused water next to the reception desk for guests as you enter the hotel from the hot sun. The lobby bar also serves as the breakfast area. There is also a pizza bar but we did not try it. The rooms are decent in size and also brand new with the same blue hues carried throughout the decor. The bathroom in our room was a good size with both a waterfall shower head and a handheld shower head. I loved the herringbone pattern on the wood floors. The bed and pillows were comfortable The staff members were all personable and knowledgeable. The roof top pool, although on the small side, offers a beautiful view of the coast line. The hotel is at the end of a pedestrian street with a variety of shopping and restaurants. It is a short walk from the train station and ferry port. Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was good but not spectacular. My only complaints are that the door to the room was REALLY hard to open and the key kept getting deprogrammed. Also our room was located on the first floor facing the very busy road. The traffic noise was constant until at least 2:00 a.m. the refrigerator in the room barely chills the drinks inside. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would stay again in the future.

Excellent little hotel. Clean, good amenities, central. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. Lots of positives - wonderful restaurant - great choice of breakfast, freshly cooked evening meal. Reception staff always ready to help and advise. Danielle on the information desk does a good job. Cleaning staff do a first class job. Everyone so cheerful. Only negatives - some rooms noisy from the main road. I had a noisy room but after the first night was transferred to a much quieter one, this was dealt with efficiently, quickly and with no hassle. Also our party do suggest that to save any embarrassment the cleaning staff should knock on the room door before entering to clean.
