Hotel Ullensvang

I see this hotel as more of a resort. Lovely rooms, unbeatable views, exceptional service. Very large and tasty breakfast buffet is included with the room. We also included the dinner buffet with our stay. It too was great. Their pool is very different with indoor and outdoor options. You have two areas to enter the fjord to swim. In front of the hotel and way to the enf a nice little beach.

Truly a gem of a hotel! Spending time in this hotel was an experience of its own. The hotel has tons of options of activities, an amazing fjord facing pool, a gym with equally good looking view, table tennis, indoor tennis, option to swim in the fjord, a hike in the apple orchard, and maybe many more that I couldn’t try. One can just spend days sitting in the lawn area, looking at the majestic mountains and fjord in front of them, uninterrupted by the hustle and bustle of the cities. It has a rich history too, the hotel heritage goes back 150+ years and the hotel display it nicely. You can also access the nearby town which has a supermarket, two nice little restaurants and a coffee shop. The only con was that the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning and I was visiting in mid July so it felt a bit hot during the day.

Staff at this hotel are lovely and so are the views. The hotel however is in need of an update with rooms quite dated and not of the quality presented on the website. The hotel is very warm throughout and this made it unbearable both in the room and in the restaurant. The arrival was stressful as there is not enough parking spaces for all guests and you are left circling the carparks for quite some time before you eventually find a spot, quite possible not actually meant for parking but you are left with no choice. Buffet breakfast and dinner were average at best and cleaning could improve as we found hairs from a previous guests when moving our shower screen. There was also blood stains inside a toilet door on the basement level, with the rest of the public toilets blocked on the same floor.
