Hotel Universel Montréal

We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Universel. The room was clean, stocked and had a nice view. The shower was fantastic.The staff was very friendly as well.The TV takes a bit to warm up, but once it does it's fine. The safe was a good size. Lots of English channels which we really appreciated. After long days of walking it was nice to just chill in the evening. My only wish is that they would have had wine glasses in the room, but we made do with the water glasses. Would I book this again? Absolutely!

The staff were awesome. Very willing to offer great suggestions for the city and very helpful. The rooms were a bit small and no microwave in the room. The sink seemed to drain a bit slow. Sound proofing seemed okay but I sleep with a noise machine. The beds were a little hard and pillows were too fluffy but overall okay. Beautiful hotel and the surrounding area is great with all the nearby tourist attractions. Overall our 1 night stay was very good.

Clean rooms, but I dislike that there's no balcony. You can't even open the window! Sink and bathtub didn't drain well, had to call maintenance person. For a 4-star hotel, water bottles should always be complimentary (there is a water fountain in the lobby, though). Bed and pillows were comfy, my mom and I slept well. They have 1 restaurant and a bar. The food was some of the best I've had in my life. Must try their tender turkey legs. However they should have more flexibility in opening hours since there's only 1 restaurant and there are no other restaurants within walking distance. Walking distance from major attractions. Staff is friendly, attentive and bilingual. Noise at night was not an issue. Overall, although there are areas for improvement, we were satisfied.
