Good sized rooms. Some communal areas are dated but it adds to the character so isn't really a criticism. Staff have been excellent. Situation isn't the best being on the main road in and out of Filzmoos but traffic not too obtrusive.

We had a lovely one week family ski holiday at Unterhof in Filzmoos. The hotel is sparkling clean and overall has good amenities. It is particularly family friendly in spite of the rooms being quite basic and not especially accommodating beyond a sofa bed for the kids (other hotels in this price category offer 1 1/2 rooms with a small connected bunk bedroom). The service was very friendly and the team is very helpful. We noticed that the hotel is rather stingy in some ways, it charges for tap water for the kids (or adults) for dinner, for omelettes during breakfast time in spite of breakfast being included (1 egg omelette at a different price to 2 egg omelette??)... it's little things like this that are a bit odd. What was really affecting all hotel guests though was the fact that Unterhof doesn't partake in the Filzmoos winter card. The card provides significant discounts for ski rentals, ski school, access to the leisure centre for swimming, free ice skating. We spent hundreds of Euros extra with absolutely no compensation from the hotel or explanation why they didn't take part in the scheme as all other hotels. The establishments in Filzmoos suggested it was politically motivated and that the owner didn't like the new major. Impossible to know if true, but nevertheless, the price for not taking part in it is paid by the customers. We will go back to one of the other lovely hotels we've stayed in over the last 2 years across the Ski Amade region.
