A great house! Wonderful location, just a few meters from the sea, surrounded by lush greenery. The rooms are huge, the house is designed for absolute comfort; there's no frills to be found. The staff there are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome. Unfortunately, I didn't find the peace and quiet I had hoped for there. To the left is a motorhome parking space, straight ahead is a parking lot for surfers and kitesurfers, and to the right is a small square by the harbor with a few beaches. It's teeming with people, dogs, and surfers, but not overcrowded. Therefore, the only place I could find peace and quiet was inside the house. The conservatory of the wonderful library with a view of the sea, along with all the things described above, was more of an observation post, too much of a distraction. I'll be back; I still felt very comfortable. But I have different expectations then—or a quieter time of year in mind.
I spent a week at Upleven Schweigen, and it was absolutely wonderful. The concept is very well-thought-out and well-rounded. I felt at home from the first minute to the last. Almost like home. The atmosphere is very informal despite the silence. The food is amazing. You're on the North Sea and could theoretically go out for fish or something, but the chefs at Upleven cook such creative vegetarian and vegan dishes that not even the fish sandwich at the harbor will tempt you. The place is perfect in winter for absolute peace and quiet. I'll definitely be back. It was unique and special. A heartfelt thank you to the whole team. 🤍
This was my second time staying at Upleven and I'd love to come back! It's a wonderful place to slow down, unwind, unwind, find yourself, meditate, and (if you want to) meet great people. The concept of shared meals is great; it's easy to strike up a conversation with other hotel guests. The library is also beautifully designed and very bright thanks to its large glass fronts; I spend most of my time there during the day. The rooms are simple but perfectly adequate. The staff are all so friendly and helpful; you feel very comfortable and welcomed straight away. And when the weather's nice, you can take long walks along the beautiful coast or on the dike.
