Hotel Uyan Special Class

I was travelling on my own and really loved my single room. My room was not too big but the bed was good size and very comfortable. Room was very well designed and decorated. The bathroom was nice and clean. I asked for the iron and I received it delivered to my room within the minutes. The views from the roof top breakfast bar is beautiful. The location is excellent, just a few steps from the most important touristic attractions. Close to the bus and train. The reception is super kind. They helped with everything I needed. If I go back to Istanbul I will definitely stay in the same hotel.

We can’t say enough about our experience at Hotel Uyan! First of, the location is amazing - conveniently located to both mosques, Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar and an easy walk to the Galata Tower. While it’s not a five-star hotel, our room was spacious and we enjoyed the “old-world” feel of the decor. The staff are very generous and helpful - always wanting to make our stay and time in Istanbul pleasant. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Location, Location, Location! Hotel Uyan is located within a 2 minute walk to Hagia Sophia and all calls to prayer are part of daily life here. There is a self-serve breakfast from 8-10:30 on the top floor as well as a simple bar service at night, together with a rooftop terrace that lets you see the blue mosque. The hotel itself is in an old Turkish villa with 9 steps to enter, inside there is an elevator as well as a well-appointed lobby/sitting area. The interior is quite dated and nothing fancy but the beds & covers were excellent. This is probably the cleanest hotel we have ever seen in our travels! Staff was very helpful and friendly, they readily arrange tours, make reservations, and even walk you to good neighborhood restaurants. Everyone spoke English well. We would readily come back here, the location simply cannot be beat!
