I definitely recommend it. We booked for a week, and the staff filled that week with great service, friendly attitudes, smiles, comfort, and delicious meals. Hotel Valle De Rio is a great place for couples and families. There are lovely grounds to play in, walk through, and sit near the river in comfort.
The rooms, food and location are simply awesome. Truly the only thing nicer we have come across are the Panamanian people. As a Canadian I have always been proud of our reputation as being friendly, Panamanians are much more friendly than us old Canucks! We loved our stay and the people!
I guess I liked this hotel a lot because I booked 2 more nights the next week. It is a beautiful location and nice rooms and friendly staff. I have 2 negatives. The restaurant plays music all day long until about 1 AM with the bass turned up very loud. This means that if you want to listen to the beautiful sounds of the river next to the hotel it will be marred by the sound of the bass playing from the restaurant. And if you are a light sleeper it may disturb you in your room on the river side. But other than that and the fact that walking into town is a little dicey on the narrow road where it is located, the hotel is really very good.
