Hotel van Bebber

Blown away by this staff and this stay. Van Bebber welcomes you to a gorgeous historic hotel where you can stay at luxury without breaking the bank. The staircases are gorgeous along with thoughtful flooring. Decoration is fitting for each room providing warm lights to make the historic hotel have this cozy feeling. I met one of the owners outside on arrival, sitting with a friend on a nice day. He invited myself and a guest to sit and have a drink with him. This was before we knew he was the owner, what we learned is that this family runs this hotel and they want you to make yourself at home. Upon notice that we’d be dining at their hotel restaurant, they treated us like royalty and wanted to make sure we enjoyed true italian dishes. Their mother, the head chef, did outstanding. Below the restaurant there is a cigar lounge in a cellar. Great, great atmosphere to have a drink with your best mates. Fell in love with this small city mostly due to the amazing locals.

Stay every year in Xanten. Bledi and family who own the hotel are magnificent. They offer top class service and "moma's" cooking is wonderful. The rooms have been updated over the last few years but it still keeps the unique historic feel, but far more comfortable. You will enjoy the stay here. Xanten is also a cool place to visit.

I stayed 1 night, Sat/Sun for a sports event in town. This easily could have been a five star review if it was not for the bed. But first the good news: the place is cozy and retro in a very good way. It is a private hotel with a great restaurant and a cellar that works like a bar/club. The staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and bright. And the breakfast was rich and delicious. Just the bed... also retro but in the not so good way. Guys! Time to buy new mattresses :)
