Loved it. Stayed in one of the suites and it had a gorgeous view outside into the main square and an excellently positioned location. Also stayed temporarily in a normal room (my choice due to a concert going on in the square and the hotel kindly moved me for a night) which was perfectly good for a sleep. Lovely staff and really helpful on the front desk. Accept it might be more noisy (not outrageously so) more so Fridays and Saturdays, but you are in the centre of Old Town so you sign up for it and if you are shocked or upset by that then you haven't really thought it through! Ear plugs easily sorted that out. I'm a light sleeper and didn't struggle most of the week. Reception can provide earplugs if you forget. Nice choice of breakfast food for vegetarians too and didn't ever get too busy. Cheers!
We stayed here between August 6-9, 2025. I read the reviews and was a little surprised. The rooms are definitely not noisy, on the contrary, although it is directly at the entrance of the old town, it is very quiet, and when you close your curtains, it is very suitable for sleeping all day 😄 The lady who took care of us at the reception was very kind, although we arrived early, she kindly told us that the room was not available and gave us a locked room for our suitcases, then when the room was ready, she informed us via whatsapp and they gave us a free suite upgrade and champagne as a gift because it was our honeymoon. It was a very kind gesture and thank you very much again. I don't agree that they treat you badly when they realize that you are Turkish. In general, they are very rude, all the shopkeepers and employees here, maybe you may have come across them. It's really uncomfortable if you're not used to it because they are really horribly rude. Despite this, the woman who took care of us at the reception was incredibly kind and sweet. What is written about the restaurant part is true, the waiters are rude and it is really as if they are forced to serve us. We ate here once and we did not eat or drink anything here again in order not to accept this attitude again. In summary, we are very happy with the hotel part in the whole process. Unfortunately the restaurant part could be better, the menu is very inadequate and the waiters are rude.
During a cruise stop in Kotor, I had lunch at Hotel Vardar, right in the heart of the Old Town. The terrace is a perfect spot for relaxing and people-watching, surrounded by beautiful historic architecture. I ordered a salmon sandwich, which was fresh and well-prepared, and enjoyed a glass of Luca, a local Montenegrin white wine that was crisp and refreshing. The service was friendly, and while the prices are a bit on the higher side, the setting and quality made it worthwhile. A great place to unwind and take in the atmosphere during a day ashore.
