Hotel Venera Istanbul Old City

Fantastic value for money. Will recommend any time any day. Hotel is new and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. HOWEVER the spa lady is absolutely rubbish. Lazy and smelt of cigarettes. Used the sponge that she had used to scrub my feet to scrub my face. I broke out. I’ve had Turkish body scrubs before. That was not it. She was awful. I would give her 1 star because she was pleasant. However I think she was lazy in the execution of her work.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The hospitality and helpfulness were definitely present throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and nicely maintained, and it’s clear that the hotel blends in well with its surroundings, creating a charming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was generally great—friendly and attentive. However, we did experience a few odd moments with some housekeeping staff who entered the room without knocking, even while we were asleep. That was a bit uncomfortable and something that could definitely be improved. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the overall atmosphere and service. And the breakfast was okay too.

The hotel location is good close to tram and bus service and 15 to 20 min walk to Grand bazar, Hagia Sofia blue mosque and many more, we stayed 10 days, first two days service was good but slowly they decrease supply, room was not clean as it showed, you cannot change room temperature it’s fixed on 24 degree, we visited in July 3-11 and when we came from outside the was too hot and we are unable to change thermostat and they offer to open windows if you feel hot, also washroom drain continuously smell badly. Breakfast good variety and roof top restaurant had good menus and good view. We came across with drilling noise in day time. Which is disturbing day time rest in hot room. They understand limited English, we used google translater.
