Hotel Verde Mar & Spa

Super hotel facing the ocean, fantastic views from the rooms and from the restaurant, outdoor pool, bar. Don't expect to step directly on the beach from the hotel though. There is a 15-20 m green strip that looks like may be soon build on that has to be crossed before getting to the sand. The pools and spa are awesome, the staff polite, smiling, professional. The breakfast buffet is amazing, with fresh local fruit, lots of savory options, as well. We had a great stay there.

We had an ocean view which is definitely worth it. The room itself is large and fine, beginning to show some aging but clean. Breakfast was great compared to other hotels on the island. The pool area is a great place to spend the afternoon. The free parking is really appreciated. My only issue is that there is no direct beach access from the hotel and so it’s a bit of a trek to get there. I would stay here again.

The hotel offers a beautiful view of the ocean which is definitely its strongest point. However, the rooms (especially the bathroom) are very dark, and the overall atmosphere feels worn-out. For the spa, guests have to pick up scratchy towels from reception, which doesn’t feel very 5-star. The facilities look tired and in need of renovation. The breakfast has a decent variety, but the quality of the products is underwhelming. Considering the price and the advertised five-star rating, the experience was disappointing. One day, the elevator even got stuck. Reading all the glowing reviews online, we honestly wonder if we stayed at the same hotel. We wouldn’t come back.
