Salzburg was our base while we explored Austria, we stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect. Close to the train station and bus stops - all short walking distances. We walked to and from the train station most days and didn’t think anything of it, even after a long day on our feet. The staff were amazing, we mostly spoke to René while we were there and he was an absolute dream. From the moment we checked in, he was incredibly attentive and helpful - gave us tips on where to visit, where to eat, the best public transport to use etc., and everyday when we arrived back at the hotel, he seemed genuinely interested to know what we had gotten up to during the day. We were already in love with Salzburg but he helped us love it that much more. The room was cozy, it’s not modern by any means, but it is clean, the bed is comfortable and it is quiet. Not once did we hear other guests during our stay, it was just perfect to come back to after a long day of exploring. We would have loved to have stayed longer and if we ever come back to Salzburg, we will definitely be staying here.
This hotel is centrally situated in Salzburg. Close to town centre, museums, Mirsbell Garden, palaces, Cathedral, churches catacombs and much more. Train station a short, easy walk away. Many busses are available. Bedroom, lounge and bathroom adequate with thick soft towels. Or bedding was changed eventhough we stayed 3 days. Personnel all were helpfull. I can only fault the hotel for not having cold water in the lobby, especially after a long hot days walk. 31 degrees in summer. Also no coffee/tea facility.
Decent hotel about a 7 min walk from the downtown core. It is very very old and dated. Our room was unbearably hot and leaving the window open brought in wasps. It was really just “OK” and I would probably recommend you find another hotel a little more updated or one that may get a better breeze through the window in the summer
