Hotel Vila D'Óbidos

Very conveniently located near Óbidos and Peniche. Nice buffet breakfast and courteous service. Sound-proofing between rooms may not have received the full attention it deserved: hearing the person in the next room snoring (trust me, it was low volume snoring) is a big no-no for me.

The furniture and the bathroom is very used and old. The next day tey didnt clean the room till 15:00

Warning: you can get much better everywhere. From the outside, this is by far the ugliest hotel I've ever seen. Especially the big hall next to the hotel for big parties. It's the biggest waste of nature. Ugly concrete white building in the middle of a white stone square with nothing else but stone. God is crying over this waste of his creation of nature. 1 star is enough. The lobby and entrance of the hotel looks great if you like shiny white stone marble on the floor, white walls and white ceilings and an oh-my-god it's not white but brown desk. I don't like the cold and clean white inside at all. It's cold and has no warmth at all. Still one star. The hotel also smells like entering a big swimming pool. In the lobby they try to masque this odeur with a vaporizer. I think it's better to clean the filters of the air conditioning every now and then. The area with the outside swimming pool has some colour. Hallelujah. A green fence and a few green plants. It gives it a nice look and feel. But it could have been so much better. The walls here aren't white anymore. A big relief. I'm upgrading the whole review to 2 stars now. The rooms seem to be clean and.... white. With a big window between the bedroom and the shower... 🫣 In the bathroom no white tiles but old yellow marble. Finally a bit of colour. But then the details. How much more rotton should a bathroom door be to be removed? How much more rust should there be on a mirror to have it replaced? How much more humidity in a room is needed to take extra measures? The management probably doesn't have a clue. All the money goes to the owners I guess. Furniture looks like it hasn't changed since 1970 I'm afraid. So back to one star again. Breakfast didn't make up for a second star as well. I'm so glad we only stay here for 2 nights. But that's also 2 nights too many. Isn't there something good here as well? Yes. The personnel is nice and very helpful. But I am not advising this place to anyone. Not until they made some changes and cleaned up.
