Hotel Villa Aurora

Nice view. Took ages to be served at lunchtime when few customers there. Windy day and wine glasses blew over and broke as waiter poured the wine. Long wait for more glasses. Several other couples just got up and left after waiting more than 30 minutes to even get a menu! Food ok, bit over cooked and grilled vegetables came after we'd finished and after asking for them twice. We were not in a hurry nor particularly hungry so enjoyed the lovely position. Expensive. Need better trained staff!!!

This place with tremendous views was absolutely appalling! For such a wonderful venue this I would have thought would be amazing however we were sadly mistaken! We asked to look at the restaurant menu but then on seeing the table across from us eating pizza that wasn't on the menu we asked to see the pizza menu. The waiter then told us if we wanted pizza we would have to sit somewhere else in the restaurant as this space was for higher paying customers! I mean what ???? "Pesents to the back please!" . We ordered off the more expensive menu as we did not want to leave the table with our baby as she had already begun to get settled and we were slightly embarrassed at having to move. The food took a very long time! The drinks were incorrect and the service was absolutely awful! They were being given a ten percent service charge which I would have refused to give if it was not included in the actual price ! Avoid avoid avoid!

The worst restaurant ever, poor service, worse food we ordered the specialty Florence steak cooked medium rare, came out cold and barely cooked and almost inedible, no table water, slow service three slices of stale bread, bitter vegetables! Disappointing all round as we were so looking forward to it. There are many places around Firenze so much better than here.
