Hotel Villa Carolina

Right next to where the ferries land in Forio, the front desk was receptive, the room immaculate c ( we had booked their only dual floor suite meant to sleep four ) for our honeymoon. If you want great views, good people, good atmosphere, book here. This place deserves all the flowers, especially being next to the port and the center of Forio. Anyone who says otherwise has unrealistic expectations given the price. My wife and I are by no means rich or delusional. This is worth every euro spent

For starters, the hotels location was amazing. Right across the street from the port in Forio. It’s very centrally located, right next to plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops. Right across the street is a small public (free) sand beach you can swim in. The private beaches with umbrellas and chairs is only maybe a 5-10 minute walk. The rooms were clean and quite large I thought. However, our experience was very negatively impacted by the noise from the restaurant next door. Watch the video with sound on. This was with our balcony door completely closed! The extremely loud music played until anywhere from 2am to 4am every single night except Sunday during our stay. I know it’s peak season, during the summer, but my husband and I couldn’t fall asleep until they decided to stop partying. We spoke to the front desk about this issue and they were well aware of the problem. It’s not their fault the restaurant was playing such loud music, however I wish something could have been done about this. Reading a lot of “this place is very quiet” and I just couldn’t agree any less. This video is probably some of the more mild music they played every night. It was mostly rap or edm music, absolutely horrific stuff. Maybe if you were okay without a sea view you might be more in the clear, but honestly the walls of this hotel are just entirely paper thin. Our neighbors the first night were a group of 4 younger girls and they were laughing and playing some sort of game in the room directly next door to us and we could hear what they were saying with the walls so thin. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unfortunately.

I made a huge mistake by booking this hotel. The "standard rooms" don't even have windows. Had to book another hotel because it's so unbearable and they won't even waive the city tax even though I just stayed in the room for 10 minutes. The pool is quite small. Don't let the pictures fool you and book elsewhere. There are plenty of decent hotels and b&bs in the neighborhood.
