Hotel Villa de Madrid

I hope you don't take offense to my review as I may need to stay there an extended amount of time. Yes if you take shower at 4 am like I did the water was extremely cold one handle and the other just not cold enough to shower. The room felt really nice. But bed sheet had cigarette burn. Staff really nice . Close windows as you will smell cigarette from other rooms.

I stayed here because I wanted to go to the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Perfect location for doing that. The hotel is a little bit dated. It is a huge building, with different styles, sort of art deco. I liked they have a seating area next to the elevators on the third floor. It needs more light and some remodeling. The rooms are huge but not that comfortable. If you want to visit the basilica then it is the perfect location. You can even walk to the basilica. We ordered food from local restaurants. Not sure if there is a restaurant but there is a VIP across the street and several restaurants near the Basilica.

This is surely not a 4*hotel. Compared to USA or Europe, this would be a shady motel. No staff speaks English, rooms are old and even though it is non-smoking hotel, sheets smelled like cigarettes. Hot water was not running at all. The street is very loud. Not a nice neighborhood.
