Hotel Villa Medici

The only poor thing to say is about the location... We chose the Hotel on price and couldn't believe our eyes, a beautiful reception area, lovely rooms for weddings and parties. Because there was nothing locally, we ate at the restaurant and were looked after like royalty by Nico and Robert. Food was superb. the recommended wine likewise, we brought 6 bottles home. The room was slightly tired but nonetheless well appointed, clean and everything worked as it should. It is unlikely, but should we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely be back.. This was the Hotel to remember from this years Holiday.

We loved our stay at Villa Medici! We came from overseas so we had lots of luggage and we were given an amazing apartment, which we were so grateful for since it also had an office and both me and my husband had to do a bit of work while traveling. The room was spacious, clean, good sized bathroom and good shower. Breakfast was delicious!!! Very decent, abundant and full of options. One of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because we chose to stay at this hotel was because of the swimming pool ( they have indoor and outdoor listed on their website), however the outdoor pool was already closed ( some hotels in Italy close their pools in September- very backwards, I know!) even though the weather was still hot and we could have enjoyed it so much The indoor pool on the other hand, was a spa and only older than 14 year olds were allowed in: we have a 4 year-old, which meant zero pool for us. We were a bit disappointed about it but thankful that at least we were given a good apt to stay in so that solved our problems a bit. We didn’t have the opportunity to have lunch or dinner at the hotel but the menu seemed amazing and we will be looking forward to coming back. Thank you for a great stay and hopefully next time we will come during summer to enjoy the pool!

Rated 1 star on Booking.com but this was a surprisingly value for money place. Rooms are comfortable, there’s hot water 😊, large bathroom, comfortable bed and in a fabulous old building! Trams are with a few meters and only 5-10 minutes to the Duomo area! But so affordable. If you don’t want to spend ridiculous amounts of money to stay at the door of the Duomo, this is your place
