Wonderful in every way. The accommodations, amenities, food and staff, all exceptional. Every meal was delicious. The spa was gorgeous and invigorating. You were treated like family.

We had our ski break with a large group of friends and it would have been a five star rating but the experience with the owner (who also drives the shuttle) has been pivotal in giving such a low mark. The task of a good host is to make his paying guests comfortable. Instead, he was particularly rude and confrontational. He was regularly storming inside the wellness area hovering like an hawk and menacing to close the area at the lightest misconduct. He even treated one of the guests as a child reminding that it was not allowed to put snow inside the open air jacuzzi. There were several other episodes where Mr welponer demonstrated his inability to classify as a good hotelier (like his presence naked in the Finnish sauna together with other guests).The hotel is not close to the ski slopes but these can be easily accessed with the shuttle avalaible between set times (7.30-11 am only). Some of the rooms are really nice and modern but our junior suite was definitely dated and the bathroom of modest standards albeit clean. Overall the remaining staff is attentive and the service we received at the restaurant was impeccable. The choice of the half board menu was of good standard and variety. Mrs Welponer and her son and daughter in law are very good hosts but they should definitely force the respective husband /father to retire and defrost in warmer climates in order to increase the rating. Another point to note is that the time the restaurant is open is particularly rigid and lacks the flexibility of a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 10am but lunch has only one hour window (12pm-1pm) and dinner too (7pm-8pm).
