Our family of four stayed here and it was absolutely perfect! The room was extremely spacious and comfortable. We loved the atmosphere and the amenities. Restaurant was great, and our girls loved spending time in the lounging pool. If you’re visiting Winters I would highly recommend this hotel!
The bathroom tub and furniture are quite old, the bed cover isn’t soft, and the corridor lights are uncomfortably bright. The hotel lobby is my favorite part, it’s welcoming and beautifully designed.
The service at check-in was terrible. The hotel sent an email asking us when we would like to check-in (we selected 4pm, which I believe is standard check-in time), but when we arrived (3:54pm) the room was not ready, and when we said, "that's fine, we can wait until 4 to check in" the woman said that the room would be ready any time after 4, to which we responded "great, we can wait 7 minutes to check-in, no problem" and she responded that she didn't know when a room would be available. There was no where for us to sit in the lobby (because wedding guests were taking up the full lobby), and she did not offer to hold our luggage so that we could go explore the town, so we were just standing in a corner, trying to stay out of the way. She did not offer the check-in wine until after giving it to the next two people checking in (who got their rooms). We asked to change the credit card on-file, but she acted like it was too difficult in the moment, so we postponed until checkout. The AC unit in the room was very loud, and the room got very warm before the AC finally turned on. When we got back for the day on Day 2, our room had not been cleaned/we did not receive fresh towels. I had to go down to the front desk to request them, and it took about 45 minutes to receive them. I asked the front desk to make a note that we would like the room serviced the next day, and was assured that this would happen without issue. When we got back for the evening on Day 3, our room had not been cleaned at all. The front desk staff was generous and gave a discount for the inconvenience and had towels delivered to the room. Overall, far too expensive for the experience we had.
