Hotel Zena Washington DC

Walkable to Metro stations and other cute neighborhoods. Felt that it was in a safe area. Bright and trendy interior filled with modern art decor; fun rooftop events including dive-in movie night on Wednesdays in the summer. One thing is there was no freezer in the in-room mini-fridge or ice/ice machines on the floors. - there are water dispensers by the elevators and throughout the hotel, however.

The hotel was nice as a whole. The Women's movement decor the hotel was beautifully done. The rooms were a tad small. My bathroom had hair on the floor, shower floor which led me think it wasn't cleaned properly. The front desk staff very friendly. I wish there wasn't a closing time to the rooftop area.

I’m from northern VA and spent the weekend there to link up with a friend and hang out by the pool. The room was very clean, the bed was so comfy. The room was modern and renovated. The bathroom was configured weird and without a door on the shower, it felt like showering in the open and was not comfortable without a shelf or area to place my bar of soap down. The small shelf in the shower already had their full size toiletries and no space for anything else. Also. There wasn’t a holder for a hand towel by the sink. The pool area and rooftop bar was so nice. Very comfy pool chairs and well maintained. An attendant diligently took care of the area, picking up plates and ensuring that chairs had fresh towels. The pool was very clean and refreshing. My problem was the marijuana smoking at the pool and rooftop bar. There were not any signs indicating “no smoking” so I guess this is allowed with the DC laws. Folks were smoking blunts and joints at the bar area and the pool area on both Saturday and Sunday. The smell was overwhelming. This should not be allowed for the comfort of others and because children were there.
